Boght Community Fire District in Colonie, NY has been providing fire and rescue service to the Boght community and the surrounding areas for more than 73 years. Our Boght Fire Department team has specialized in both fire and water rescue services, with the skills needed to help keep our community safe.
Our capable firefighters are here to handle any crisis, keeping the cool head needed to move forward, and we are open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day to address any situation.
Message from the Chief
On behalf of Boght Community Fire District, I want to thank you for visiting our website. Our webpages will provide you with information on all of the services we offer. All of our volunteer and district personnel take great pride in serving the Boght Community.
I’m honored to serve as the Chief of such a dedicated department. Since 1940, Boght Fire have had a singular mission to serve the community with any needs that arise. No matter what it is, our volunteers answer the call 24hrs/7days a week with no haste and with professionalism.
As Boght Fire looks to the future, we are constantly looking at new technologies in equipment and training programs for our personnel to better serve our community in the time of need.
I’d like to invite you to visit our facility and to meet our firefighters. We train every Thursday at 7pm. You never know, you might find a calling to volunteer.

Fire Safety, Prevention & Awareness
Be Careful With Flames
Don't leave flames unattended. Never smoke in bed or in the home. Stay in the kitchen while frying, grilling, or broiling food.
Have a Plan
Plan and practice a fire escape route with your family. Keep emergency contact information up-to-date.
Use Safety Equipment
Have a working fire extinguisher. Install smoke alarms on every level of your home and test them often. Know how to use an extinguisher.
Inspect Your Home
Inspect your electrical cords and appliances for damage. Maintain your wires. Keep items at least 3 feet from space heaters.
