BOGHT FIRE DEPARTMENT FAST TEAM
Boght Fire Department currently has 30 New York State Certified FAST Team ( Fire Assist and Search Team) Members.
Our training does not stop once we are certified, we do quarterly drills on FAST operations and methods to quickly and efficiently extract a downed firefighter from a hazardous area.
Our primary job on the scene of a fire is to ensure the safety of the firefighters on the scene. Set up ladders, get our equipment out and ready for use if necessary. Once on scene we are always ready.
The Town of Colonie has instituted a policy to differentiate FAST and NON-FAST Team Certified Firefighters. Those firefighters with Orange Tetrahedrons on their helmets are certified as FAST. Those with Yellow are not, This is for IC to easily tell who is and is not fast team certified.
Our team regularly responds to the fire districts of southern Saratoga county and the Town of Colonie for structure fire calls.
